Griffin-de-mayo Fiesta!

On May 5th, we had Griffin's 1st birthday party!  Since it was my favorite day of the year (besides Halloween and Christmas), we decided to throw a birthday bash for Griffin called Griffin-de-mayo!  I was actually praying last year that he would be born on cinco de mayo, but he wanted his own day.  I put this party together in a week and by Sunday, I was exhausted!  I made all the decorations by hand.  That meant I cut out 20 paper mustaches for the straws, cut tissue paper for banners, paper-punched 30+ pictures of Griffin, cut out large mustaches, cut out 20 more mustaches for a garland and made the birthday banner.  Plus I cleaned the house, grocery shopped and cooked the enchilada casserole and rice.  Yea, I was busy.  Thank God for my hubby who helped out with the kids and was in charge of the yard and getting tables/chairs from a friend. Oh and did some grocery shopping and picking up of the cupcakes and smash cake.  It was a lot of work but so much fun to see it all come together.  Worth every hand cramp.

Food table with Griffin's banner
Dark pictures you drive me crazy!  I should've shut the blinds.  Large mustache for the table and Griffin's high chair got a little decoration too.
Presents
"My Stache" for the kids to take home
Birthday mantle fit for a Mexican...sombrero, mustache garland, limes, sarape and an adorable mustache picture to top it all off.
Playing the maracas with some of his amigas
Oh, yea I made Gracie and Griffin's shirts too.

Was not too excited about the bounce house.  In fact, he cried the first time.
My sweet baby!
Loving it now!
I love that face!
Fiesta in the backyard
So glad our neighbors joined the fun.  Mustaches for everyone!
Even the babies joined in the fun!  What troopers!
Little Emilio...a real charmer with a stache like that
Kieran~ the belly is too perfect with his old man stache. haha so funny!
Griffin's "stache" cake
I had originally planned to cut mustaches out for the cupcakes too but my hand were killing me and I couldn't bare the thought of cutting them out!
Singing "Happy Birthday" to the birthday boy!
Being bashful
Gracie and friends helped blow out the candle
He did not know what to do.  He would lightly touch it, then pull away.
Still trying to figure it out

Finally!

Give me a kiss!
Our neighbors rock!  I love that the adults enjoyed the mustaches too!

Then we enjoyed the bounce house for an hour or so with just the 4 of us.

Griffin says "Cheese!"

We took so many pictures trying to get Gracie to make a "normal" smile.  This is one of the crazy ones.

So much better!

We had such a fun time at Griffin's party!  We are so thankful to those friends that could come over and make it memorable.  Feliz Cumpleanos mijo!  Happy birthday son!
